The pilot companies
The channel marketing pilot project included three rising Scottish technology companies:

Nallatech - www.nallatech.com - have achieved $30m sales in five years, designing FPGA semiconductors to various markets including the US defence sector.

Nallatech's Craig Petrie and Craig Sanderson undertook an "immersion placement" at Freescale Semiconductor's Austin, Texas plant, to help them and their company understand channel and product marketing and take ideas back to HQ in Cumbernauld.

Their secondment was arranged via GlobalScot Eddie Sinnott, of Freescale.

Company Net - www.company-net.co.uk - an Edinburgh-based software firm, took part in a similar programme, paired with Boston-based Magenic.

Their programme was arranged by another GlobalScot, Bob McDowell, vice-president of Microsoft (Magenic is a Microsoft "Gold Partner").

Seebyte - www.seebyte.com - with a growing reputation for positioning technology with applications in the military and offshore markets - teamed up with Sun Microsystems.

Founded in 2001, Seebyte has enjoyed 170 per cent annual growth during recent years, with plans to expand sales to $50m by 2010.
