Forty Scottish wireless and mobile specialist companies attended this year’s global gathering for the industry, the 3GSM conference, in Barcelona to market their wireless innovations.
The companies, drawn from a wide range of disciplines within the fast-growing sector, were at 3GSM to make contacts, do deals and develop their understanding of new market and product developments in one of the world’s fastest-growing technology sectors.
They were supported by Wireless Innovation, Scotland’s national initiative for wireless and mobile technology. Operated by Innovation Centres (Scotland Ltd) (ICS), Wireless Innovation plays a key role in providing business development, market intelligence and product development support to more than 130 companies across Scotland. Wireless Innovation has been working directly with several companies to make sure they realise their potential at 3GSM, a vast four-day event which is attended by the leading players in the wireless and mobile marketplace.
“The key aim for many of the companies is to meet existing and potential clients, as well as to track market trends in a sector which continues to grow rapidly,” said David Reilly, of Wireless Innovation.
“We are supporting the companies, to make sure they meet the right people, find out what’s going on in the industry globally, and how this has an impact on their business. We are also showcasing technology on behalf of several smaller Scottish companies.”
Wireless Innovation works with a broad range of companies across Scotland. From small start-ups with a basic idea for a business, to established Scottish companies already selling products and services globally, the organisation’s client base covers developers involved in infrastructure, content and applications.
