Gerry McCann will be interviewed about the use of television in the search for his daughter and the role that the media has played in the McCann's campaign to find Madeleine.
Current affairs, entertainment, technology and a series of high profile masterclasses are some of the major themes for this year's Festival, which takes place from Friday 24 August to Sunday 26 August.
Newsnight presenter, Jeremy Paxman, will give the MacTaggart Lecture, assessing ten years of Labour government and its relationship with the media
Other participants include Joanna Shields, president of Bebo discussing new technology and former MP Ann Widdicombe, reflecting on the decline in investigative journalism.
